Only Four More Days!

Can you believe the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog Launches on June 4th? That's just four days from now! I am so excited and I'm sure you are too!

My Catalog Kick-off Party and Retired Stamp BOGO Sale will be held on June 4th at 6 PM in my craft room, the craft room annex, and all other places upstairs! I would l love for you to come and bring a crafty friend. We're going to make a card with the new In-colors (they're gorgeous!), you'll get a new catalog and see the cards I've made using new products, I'm going to have a fun gift for you, and shopping bags to make your BOGO selecting much easier!

BOGO!! I have so many retired stamps! Seriously, so many, I need to move them out to make room for more new stuff! Here's the deal, you shop the BOGO, pick out what you love, and buy it at the price marked. Then you select products from the NEW catalog for FREE!! All you have to pay for the new things is shipping and tax. Unbelievable, huh?

Oh, and guess what? I've been keeping a secret. Have you heard of a bargain basement? I'm having a $5 Bargain Bathroom! Everything in the upstairs bathroom will be $5! There are stamps, dies, stamp pads, and other things in there! You will find amazing deals in the Bargain Bathroom! (Don't worry, the bathroom downstairs will be open for normal bathroom use!)

Now, how about a look at some more cards that I've made using some new stamps and new paper?

The Perennial Essence Suite has become one of my favorite Suites in the catalog. I have always loved Monet's paintings (I even visited Monet's home at Giverney once just so I could see his gardens) and this paper feels so much like his work! It is so hard to cut these pieces of paper; I want them more on my cards than I do in the package in the box on my shelf though! I MIGHT have framed one of them for the upstairs bathroom, though! LOL

The Perennial Essence stamp set was designed for EVERYONE because it has an open stamp that you can fill with blends, watercolor, or any other kind of coloring tool you like and it has two closed stamps (shown on this card) that you can just ink and stamp or, if you can't leave well enough alone, you can use the rock and roll technique (also shown on this card) to add dimension to the stamp. But WAIT, There's MORE! The stamp set also has a stamp with a matching punch (be still my heart) that makes a three-pointed flower piece that can be layered to make a full flower...or as I did in this card, can be stamped in green and used as a leaf!!

I have a funny story about this card. I showed it to my husband (the first thing he does every time is read the message on the front and then open it and read the inside message, and of course there's usually not an inside message so he's immediately disappointed!) and he studied it for a minute or two and didn't say anything. Puzzled, I asked him what he thought. He fumbled around and finally said, "well, it doesn't really look like you." Hmmm..."what do you mean?" He said, "It's just rectangles on a card, your cards usually have more things on them, and more variety of shapes." OK, that I can deal with! "Charlie, we can't make 'Elizabeth' cards in my card classes or else we would be here until midnight!" I told him that I had to design cards that we can make six of in two hours! And the rectangles are awesome. 🤣

If you saw my Instagram post weekend before last of me stamping and watercoloring the It Starts With Art Stamp Set at Mugs Cafe, these are the completed cards from that day. I have to admit that I went a bit overboard on the card on the top left! I just started adding stuff and couldn't stop! 🙅 I'm going to show you a close up so you can make sure you don't copy my mistakes!

There's so much going on here! I even added a charm from the Follow Your Art Accessory Kit. Why would I add a charm? Remember this card and when you realize it's time to stop. Stop!

The falling sprinkle of sequins is one of my favorite things. At first I couldn't figure out what this little stamp was. I thought maybe it was snaps, then I thought, why a snaps stamp? It couldn't be snaps! Upon closer look I thought it must be sequins. Once I stamped it and colored them in, I was convinced that's what they were. So, I sprinkled them all of the way down the card and added a few Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems to make it sparkle a bit!

The card on the left is the avid crafter (or epic crafter as I sometimes say, LOL) version of the beginner crafter card on the right. I like both of these cards! The Avid card has a watercolor background painted on watercolor paper and then embossed with the Button, Button Embossing Folder. Then I stamped and watercolored the stamped images from the It Starts With Art Stamp Set on shimmery white paper and layered and stamped and layered! Whew! But isn't it gorgeous?

I used the Designer Series Paper from the Follow Your Art Suite that looks sort of like stylized watercolor. I stamped the Spool of Ribbons, the Happy Birthday, the Sentiment, and the Parentheses-looking outline on shimmery white paper. I watercolored the ribbon spools, added Pacific Point twine and a charm from the Follow Your Art Accessory Kit, and then some of the Woven Threads Sequins. This card is beautiful also and it feels much like the Avid card.

Here is a closer view of the Avid Crafter card using the It Starts With Art Stamp Set. You can see the Button, Button Embossing Folder in this picture. You can also see that I used the Aqua Painter on the Parentheses shapes. I stamped them using Staz-On Ink and then watercolored over them with Coastal Cabana ink to add some color!

Does anyone know where the "It's Your" comes from? It's from the "Peaceful Place" Stamp Set. It says "It's Your Day"; I just put a post-it over the word "Day" and then peeled it off before I stamped! This was such a fun card to make!
