A Rainy Day Candy Store Window
I had my team meeting swaps almost two-thirds of the way finished and I got an urge to watercolor!  My original swaps weren't particularly inspired, so I didn't mind changing my plans...except for the work I had already put into them and the stamping and and the paper that's already cut and still on my craft table! But, they're birthday cards, and I always need birthday cards!

I wanted to do fast and easy watercoloring! I love the look of brushing the aqua painter over a stamped image so that you just soften the lines of the image and make it look just a little bit "watery" and I thought the glass candy jars from the Sweetest Thing Stamp Set (which is retiring, so get it now!) would be perfect. I think the finished cards look like you're looking through a candy store window on a rainy day!
| I Made HUGE Pool Party & Silver Baker's Twine Bows Because the Twine is Retiring in a Month! And HUGE Bows Are Better!! |
| I think the Melon Mambo are my particularly favorite candies! The insides are such a pretty watercolorly pink, but the outside edges maintained a crisp melon mambo line! |
Do you want to learn to watercolor?
I've been planning a summer daytime workshop series and these cards have helped me decide on the theme.  I'm going to do a three part series called The Joy of Coloring.  The workshops will be held on the Second Fridays of June, July, and August at 10 AM.  Each workshop will focus on a different coloring technique!
June 14 - Basic Watercoloring with Aqua Painters and Blender Pens
July  12 - Alcohol Marker Blending - Color Like and Artist with Stampin' Blends
August 9 - Advanced Watercoloring Techniques; No-Line Watercoloring and More
Pricing will be around $35 for the Base Package for each workshop which will include DSP, embellishments, and a tool.  The Stepped Up Package will add-on the Stamp Set so the price will vary.  If you attend all three workshops you'll get a special gift!
Email me at ekmhart@gmail.com if you want to reserve your spot!
Joyful Stamping,
Elizabeth
